NFS 2 Unleashed 2011

It's been another crazy busy week here at Need for Speed, with the team being down at EA headquarters in Redwood City, California, but we still cranked out tons of stories and lots of new stuff for the community to play with.


First up, the SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED Autolog Drift Challenge was launched on Monday, and we've had tons of entries. Up for grabs for the winner is an outstanding A40 wireless gaming headset from Astro Gaming, as well as a random draw winner receiving a Need for Speed prize pack, valued at $250 which includes an Astro Gaming A30 wired gaming headset, so even if you can't top Vaughn Gittin Jr's score of 708, send your twitpics to @NeedforSpeed with the hashtag #SHIFT2_AutologChallenge for a chance to win.


NFSCoulter posted the second in his series on tuning your SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED car to the max, this time focusing on tuning your sway bars to ensure maximum performance.


With Team Need for Speed being fresh off their first podium - Matt Powers took 2nd in Long Beach - in Formula Drift, we had lots of coverage of that too, including a full recap with photos, NFSCoulter's thoughts on his first drift experience, and an awesome in-car video of Matt.


With Need for Speed World free racing game, we added VoIP voice chat ability this week with Dolby Axon, as well as the weekly maintenance window and addition of tiered card packs.


And last but not least, we had the 75th edition of the Need for Speed Podcast, which is live on iTunes, our RSS feed, and streaming in the player below. NFSCoulter joins the podcast crew this week, and we chat about the fastest racing game on the planet, SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED, updates for World, Hot Pursuit, Team Need for Speed, and the always intriguing off-topic topic.
